Bhutan is a sports nation. The development and promotion of sports is yet to be recognized as an important development strategy that contributes to the attainment of the national development goal of Gross National Happiness.
Bhutan+partners encourage and support sports as means of social development and wholesome education in a vast changing society and lately focusses on inclusion of young unemployed youth.

Bhutan+partners coordinate the sport coalitions in action program in Bhutan for the Dutch Ministry of Puclic Health, Welfare and sports. The program runs from 2009 to July 2012.

Bhutan+partners were involved in archery the national sport of Bhutan.
Bhutan+partners assisted the German film production about the first female archery player in Bhutan.

Bhutan+partners assisted in the production of the book A bow Between Two Worlds about archery in Bhutan and The Netherlands.

The Bhutan Archery Federation received a Prince Claus Award in 2005. Bhutan+partners supported the nomination and assisted the Prince Claus Fund with information about archery in Bhutan. Bhutan+partners also connected the Prince Claus fund to resource persons.

football
The other final, the football match between Montserrat and Bhutan in 2002 was a huge event and well covered. The film The other Final was screened all over the world. Football became a very popular game among the youth after The other final.
The other final was the first sports program in which bhutan+partners were involved. Bhutan+partners arranged for the match to be played in Bhutan and assisted in all the logistical arrangements as well as the line production for the film.
