the circle of karma

The Circle of Karma is Kunzang Choden’s first novel. Kunzang Choden tells the story of Tsomo, who leaves her village at a young age to travel into the world. A story about a young women discovering the world beyond her safe home valley and through time: herself. The book gives valuable inside information about the changing society and cultural and religious aspects of day to day life in Bhutan.

Bhutan+partners brought the book to the attention of de Geus publishers in 2008. De Geus together with Oxfam Novib published the translation of the book in 2009. The book – ‘Tsomo’s Karma’ in Dutch – was one of the novels sent to 10.000 subscribers of the World Authors’ Oxfam/Novib serie  in 2009.

De Geus publishers, together with The Prince Claus Fund and bhutan+partners invited Kunzang Choden for a book presentation in Amsterdam on 2 July 2009.
