Tharpaling Monastery, central Bhutan, has a vacancy for a volunteer to teach English to the monks and the young Rinpoche. Are you a teacher of English or English native speaker with teaching qualification and looking for a challenge this could be an opportunity!
This is a volunteer vacancy: visa, local food and accommodation will be taken care of by the Monastery. All other expenses – international flight, insurances, pocket money and 40US$ visa fee need to be covered by the volunteer teacher.
Tharpaling Monastery, overlooking Chumey Valley in Bumthang is an hours drive by car from Bumthang town. The monastery is an important religious landmark of Bhutan, a monastic school where an ancient specific monastic tradition is taught.
The teacher will be teaching the young monks including Rinpoche himself. This will be the first time for the monks to receive English language training. Materials need to be selected and prepared.
