Erica Terpstra and Marianne Vos to Royal Wedding Bhutan

HM Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuk, the king of Bhutan, will marry his fiancée Jetsun Pema on 13 – 15 October 2011.

Erica Terpstra and Mariannne Vos travel to Bhutan from 8 to 17 October 2011 to attend  the royal wedding festivities. Erica Terpstra and Marianne Vos will report about the royal wedding and present a gift to the Royal Couple. Marianne Vos and Erica Terpstra will also be engaged with the sport coalition in action program in Thimphu. They will visit the centre, speak with the staff, give workshops to the youth and Marianne will of course get on a bicycle with the youth for some practical training. Also BOC is interested to work with Marianne.

Mrs Erica Terpstra is well known as a former Dutch Olympic medalist,  member of parliament and NOC*NSF president. Mrs. Marianne Vos is the best Dutch female cyclist. She is Olympic  gold medal winner (2008), world champion cyclo cross (2006, 2009 – 2010, 2011).

Bhutan+partners organize the program for Erica Terpstra and Marianne Vos. Lem van Eupen, Matthijs de Jongh and  Henk de Jong, respectively president, board member and director bhutan+partners, will join Erica and Marianne in October 2011.

Netherlands sponsor 18 Bhutanese students

18 Bhutanese students will arrive in the Netherlands in September 2011 to either follow a masters program or a short course in a specific area. The students are sponsored throught the Netherlands Fellowship Program. The students followed a pre-departure program in Bhutan organized by the Dutch Consulate and the Netherlands Alumni Association of Bhutan. Lyonpo Dorji Wangdi, the minister of Labour and Human Resources and president of the alumni association attended the function.
