opera to bhutan travel 1 – 19 may 2011

Opera to Bhutan is an international collaborative initiative that will bring the first opera performance ever to Bhutan. Acis & Galatea, by Handel, is a mythical story about love, death and transformation.  All elements that can be found in Bhutanese stories, dances and other forms of artistic expression. Handel’s opera Acis & Galatea was waiting to be produced in Bhutan!

You have the  opportunity to participate in this project! Journey to Bhutan – Land of the Thunder Dragon, from May 1 to 19  – 2011, is being organized in cooperation with the Royal Government of Bhutan, and offers an extraordinary opportunity to see firsthand the creative process in action as the opera project’s artistic team from Bhutan and abroad begin to come together.

erica terpstra at tros tv show

Erica Terpstra will be one of the guests at Ivo Niehe’s Tros TV show on Netherlands public television, Sunday 17 April 2011.

Erica, 1, will speak about her life, activities and of course about her travel program for which she visited Bhutan early 2011.

Bhutan+partners organized Erica Terpstra’s visit to Bhutan, and supported her crew in all production arrangements. The travel program will be broadcasted by MAX TV, autumn 2011.

erica terpstra – chang jiji

Bhutan+partners organized the trip of Erica Terpstra to Bhutan for MAX Television. After her program Erica Terpstra visited Chang Jiji youth and sports centre in Thimphu . The centre is the main area for the sport coalitions in action program, funded by the Dutch Government, and implemented by bhutan+partners in collaboration with the Bhutan Youth Development Fund. A basketball tournament was going on when Erica Tersptra arrived. Mrs Terpstra spoke to the participating youth about the importance of sports and  she encouraged the youtworkers to continue their efforts and told them that sports is a great way to encourage young people to learn life lessons and find a goal in live.

The team members were very happy that Mrs Terpstra’s took the opportunity to visit them and speak about the importance of the program, the impact on the youth and developments in the area.
